Rules Revised – January 2013 New Rule: Both teams will receive an equal number of turns every game. The player taking the last turn may not throw more darts than the prior player. If each team is tied after both teams have completed a game, each team would throw one(1) dart at bull to determine the winner. They will continue to throw until a winner is determined. |

1. SPORTSMANSHIP MUST BE PRACTICED During All Lakewood Dart League Events.

2. THE SCORING AREA OF A DART BOARD IS ENCLOSED BY A WIRE SPIDER.
3. THE OBJECTIVE OF ANY 01 GAME IS TO SCORE THE EXACT NUMBER OF POINTS STATED BY THE NAME OF THE GAME, WITH THE LAST SCORING DART IN A DOUBLE. SINGLES GAMES, TWO PLAYERS COMPETING, ARE CRICKET AND 301. IF BOTH TEAMS CHOOSE, GAME 7 MAY BE, TEAM CRICKET (15-20 & CORK) ALL 301 AND 501 GAMES ARE DOUBLE IN AND DOUBLE OUT. NOTE: IF OPPOSING PLAYERS AGREE, ANY 301 AND/OR ANY 501 MAY BE PLAYED FREE IN AND DOUBLE OUT. (THIS IS NOT THE CAPTAINS DECISION)
4. THE OBJECTIVE OF A CRICKET GAME IS TO RECORD THREE (3) HITS EACH ON SEVEN (7) SEGMENTS OF THE BOARD.
5. DIVISION STANDINGS ARE SENT WEEKLY TO ALL TEAM REPRESENTATIVES AND TAVERNS.
6. EVERY TEAM COMPLETING THE SEASON IN GOOD STANDING WILL BE ENTITLED TO RECEIVE AWARDS EARNED DURING THAT SEASON. (ANY TEAM AND/OR PLAYER NOT FULLY PAID AND ANY WINTER LEAGUE 1ST HALF TEAM THAT DID NOT PLAY THE 2ND HALF, WILL BE CONSIDERED AS NOT HAVING FINISHED IN GOOD STANDING.) IF YOUR TEAM HAS NOT PAID WEEKLY FEES (OR ANY PART THEREOF) FOR A TOTAL OF THREE (3) WEEKS, YOUR TEAM MAY BE REMOVED FROM THE LEAGUE. IF YOUR TEAM WITHHOLDS FEES PAID BY A VISITING TEAM, YOUR CAPTAIN WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM LEAGUE PLAY, UNTIL THOSE FEES ARE PAID IN FULL.
7. TEAM CAPTAINS ARE SPOKESPERSONS FOR THEIR TEAM, TO THE LEAGUE AND OTHER TEAMS.
8. DISPUTES SHOULD BE HANDLED BY TEAM CAPTAINS ONLY. (PROTESTS MAY BE BROUGHT TO THE LEAGUE FOR RESOLUTION.)
9. IF YOUR OPPONENT DOES NOT FIELD AT LEAST ONE (1) PLAYER BY THE MATCH STARTING DEADLINE (8:00 P.M.) YOU MAY CLAIM A FORFEIT. IF YOU DO: ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR TEAM THAT ARE PRESENT MUST SIGN THE SCORESHEET (DO NOT PRINT) AND RETURN IT TO THE LEAGUE. (ON TIME & ALONG WITH YOUR TEAMS WEEKLY FEES) (AS A GESTURE OF GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, A TEAM MIGHT WANT TO WAIT FOR A LATE ARRIVING TEAM THAT HAS NOTIFIED YOUR TEAM OF THAT FACT. (A MATCH MAY BE POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY, OF THE SAME WEEK AS THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED MATCH.) NO MATCH MAY BE POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE. THE RESULTS OF ANY WEDNESDAY MATCH MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE LEAGUE NO LATER THAN NOON, THE DAY AFTER SAID MATCH.
PART TWO
A. AS A PLAYER PARTICIPATES IN A MATCH FOR A TEAM, THE LEAGUE ADDS THEIR NAME TO THAT TEAM'S ACTIVE ROSTER. EACH TEAM MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 4 PLAYERS ON THEIR ROSTER. PLAYERS MAY NOT BE ADDED TO TEAM ROSTERS UNTIL; THE LEAGUE DIRECTOR HAS APPROVED THE CHANGE. ANY REQUESTS FOR CHANGES IN TEAM ROSTERS MUST BE IN WRITING. AFTER THE 7TH WEEK OF ANY HALF, NO PLAYER MAY BE ADDED, UNLESS, WITHOUT THAT PLAYER, A TEAM ROSTER WOULD HAVE LESS THAN 4 PLAYERS. NO MORE THAN SIX PLAYERS MAY BE ON ANY TEAM ROSTER. YOU MUST ENTER THE NAMES OF ALL TEAM MEMBERS ON EVERY SCORESHEET, EVEN IF THEY ARE ABSENT. IF YOU OMIT A NAME: WE MAY ASSUME THE MISSING PLAYER HAS RESIGNED FROM YOUR TEAM. IF THAT PLAYER PLAYS ON YOUR TEAM IN A FUTURE MATCH, THEY MAY BE AN ILLEGAL PLAYER, AND YOUR TEAM MAY BE ASSESSED 1 PENALTY POINT FOR ANY WINNING GAME THEY PLAY IN.
B. 1. THE HOME TEAM MUST MAIL THE SCORESHEET AND FEES BEFORE NOON OF THE DAY FOLLOWING THEIR MATCH. (CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS ONLY) HAND CARRIED SCORE SHEETS DELIVERED TO L.D.L. MUST BE DELIVERED BEFORE NOON ON THE THURSDAY FOLLOWING THAT MATCH.
2. THE TOTAL WEEKLY FEE OF $3.00 PER TEAM MEMBER, (PRESENT OR ABSENT) MUST BE PAID BY ALL TEAMS NO LATER THAN EVERY WEEK.
3. BOTH TEAMS ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE ACCURACY OF THE SCORE SHEET, AND ATTEST TO SAME, BY THEIR TEAM CAPTAINS SIGNATURE.
C. 1. THE STARTING TIME OF EACH MATCH IS 8:00 P.M.
2. NO MORE THAN 5 MIN. SHOULD ELAPSE BETWEEN GAMES.
3. IN ANY 01 GAME, SINGLES, DOUBLES OR TEAMS, IF BOTH TEAMS HAVE BEEN AT DOUBLE ONE (X1) FOR AT LEAST 15 MIN., EITHER TEAM REP. MAY CALL FOR A COIN FLIP TO DECIDE THE WINNER OF THAT GAME.
D. 1. A PLAYER MAY COMPETE IN ONLY ONE OF EACH TYPE OF GAME, EXCEPT THEY MAY PLAY IN ALL 801 TEAM GAMES.
2. PLAYERS MUST NOT BE SCHEDULED TO COMPETE UNLESS THEY ARE PRESENT. ALL PLAYERS IN ATTENDANCE AT THE START OF THE MATCH MUST PLAY AT LEAST FOUR GAMES. (LATE ARRIVING PLAYERS WILL BE PLACED IN THE LINEUP ONLY IF THIER CAPTAIN CHOOSES, BUT IF THEY ARE, THEY MUST PLAY IN AS MANY GAMES AS POSSIBLE TO BRING THEIR TOTAL AS CLOSE TO FOUR AS POSSIBLE,)
3. IF A TEAM IS UNABLE TO FIELD ENOUGH PLAYERS IN SINGLES, THEY MAY PLAY SHORTHANDED RATHER THAN FORFEIT THE POINT(S). (SINGLES GAMES FORFEITED EACH RECEIVE 14 POINTS FOR 50-OUT, THE PLAYER(S) NOT FORFEITING STILL PLAY THE 50-OUT.)
4. BEFORE EACH GAME, THE HOME TEAM MUST BE THE FIRST TO ENTER THEIR LINEUP ON THE SCORESHEET. EXCEPT FOR FOUR (4) PERSON TEAM GAMES, TEAMS MUST ENTER ALL PLAYERS FOR EACH TYPE OF GAME AT THE SAME TIME.
5. LINEUPS SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED AFTER THE VISITING TEAM HAS ENTERED THEIRS, HOWEVER, IF THE HOME TEAMS MUST CHANGE THEIR LINEUP FOR ANY REASON, THE VISITING TEAM IS THEN PERMITTED TO CHANGE THEIRS.
E. 1. TO BEGIN GAMES THE HOME TEAM MUST THROW FIRST FOR CORK.
a. THE SECOND THROWER MAY ACKNOWLEDGE A SINGLE OR DOUBLE CORK THROWN BY THE FIRST PLAYER AND ASK THAT IT BE REMOVED FROM THE BOARD.
b. IF BOTH TEAMS HAVE AT LEAST THROWN THE CORK IN PREPARATION TO COMPETE FOR A MATCH POINT, NEITHER TEAM IS PERMITTED TO CHANGE THEIR LINEUP UNTIL ALL POINTS FOR THAT TYPE OF GAME ARE WON.
c. ONLY PLAYERS COMPETING FOR THAT MATCH POINT MAY THROW FOR CORK.
d. IN CASE OF TIES, REMOVE DARTS AND REVERSE THROWING ORDER.
2. THE HOME TEAM MUST SUPPLY A SCOREKEEPER FOR EVERY GAME. THIS PERSON NEED NOT BE A PLAYER, BUT SHOULD EXHIBIT GOOD DARTING MANNERS WHILE CHALKING. THE VISITING TEAM REPRESENTATIVE MAY REQUEST REPLACEMENT OF AN INADEQUATE CHALKER BUT SHOULD VOLUNTEER A REPLACEMENT.
3. THE CHALKER SHOULD MAINTAIN AN ACCURATE COUNT OF DARTS THROWN AS WELL AS GAME SCORE. WHILE CHALKING THE CHALKER SHOULD REMAIN STILL AND FACE TOWARD THE CHALK BOARD OR DART BOARD. UNLESS ASKED, THE CHALKER MUST NOT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION TO THE VISITING TEAM.
a. THE TURN SCORE IS RECORDED AS ZERO (0) FOR MISSING PLAYER (S) OF A SHORT HANDED TEAM AND DARTS THROWN AS THREE (3), THUS MAINTAINING THE CORRECT TEAM ROTATION.
b. ONLY THE LAST THROW OF ANY GAME MAY EVER BE COUNTED AS LESS THAN THREE (3) DARTS. ALL OTHER THROWS, REGARDLESS OF SCORE, ARE RECORDED AS THREE (3) DARTS THROWN.
4. NEVER DURING A TURN SHOULD ANYONE (INCLUDING THE CHALKER) EVER MOVE OR ADJUST A DART ALREADY IN THE BOARD. (INCLUDING CORKING)
5. THE SCORE OF EACH DART IS DETERMINED FROM THE SIDE OF THE WIRE WHERE IT ENTERED THE BOARD. ALSO, BASIC GAME RULES AND THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET.
a. AT DARTS RELEASE THE THROWER WAS BEHIND NOT ON OR OVER THE TOE-LINE.
b. WITHOUT HUMAN INTERVENTION, IT'S POINT REMAINED IN CONTACT WITH THE BRISTLE PORTION OF THE BOARD AT LEAST FIVE (5) SECONDS AFTER THE FINAL DART OF THE TURN WAS THROWN AND THE DART WAS PULLED FROM THE BOARD.
6. ERRORS IN ARITHMETIC STAND, UNLESS FIXED PRIOR TO THE START OF THAT TEAMS NEXT THROW.
7. IF A PLAYER COMPLETES A THROW OUT OF TURN AND IS CHALLENGED BY THE OPPOSING TEAM BEFORE THEY START A THROW, THAT PLAYER IS PENALIZED. THE CHALKER ERASES THE OUT-OF-TURN SCORE AND ALLOWS THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED PLAYER TO THROW. THE OUT-OF-TURN PLAYER FORFEITS THEIR NEXT TURN, WITH THE CHALKER RECORDING THREE (3) DARTS THROWN FOR ZERO (0) SCORE.
a. AN INCOMPLETE THROW (LESS THAN THREE (3) DARTS THROWN) HAS NO PENALTY. PULL THE DARTS AND CONTINUE.
b. AN UNCHALLENGED THROW CHANGES THAT TEAM'S ROTATION TO CONTINUE FROM THAT POINT. (PLAYER THREE (3) THROWS BEFORE PLAYER TWO (2), PLAYER FOUR (4) WOULD THROW NEXT AND PLAYER TWO (2) WOULD THEN BE LAST.)
8. THE THROWER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THAT THE SCORE IS CORRECT PRIOR TO THROWING ANY DARTS.
a. THE CHALKER, IF REQUESTED, SHOULD INFORM THE THROWER OF WHAT THEY HAVE LEFT AND/OR HAVE SCORED.
b. THE THROWER MAY REQUEST HELP WITH "OUT NUMBERS" AND/OR ANY OTHER NUMBERS OR COMBINATIONS THEREOF, INCLUDING CRICKET NUMBERS NEEDED FOR SCORE AND/OR TO "CLOSE", FROM ANY PLAYER OR SPECTATOR, INCLUDING THE CHALKER) HOWEVER, THEY MUST ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR DETERMINING THAT THIS ADVICE IS CORRECT. (ASSUME THAT PLAYERS RECEIVING HELP FROM THEIR TEAMMATES HAVE ASKED FOR THAT HELP.)
F. 1. DELIBERATE USE OF AN ILLEGAL PLAYER WILL RESULT IN A PENALTY POINT FOR EVERY WINNING GAME IN WHICH THAT PLAYER PARTICIPATED. USING FALSE NAMES WILL RESULT IN ALL MATCH POINTS BEING FORFEITED.
2. LATE AND/OR INCOMPLETE SCORE SHEETS AND/OR MISSING LEAGUE FEES WILL RESULT IN HOME TEAM PENALTIES. (VISITING TEAMS WILL BE PENALIZED IF THEIR FEES ARE MISSING.) @ ONE (1) POINT PER WEEK FOR LATE SCORE SHEETS AND/OR ONE (1) POINT PER WEEK FOR MISSING FEES AND 1 POINT PER WEEK FOR THE VISITING TEAMS MISSING FEES (IF THEY HAVE PAID YOU). IF YOU HAND DELIVER A SCORE SHEET AND/OR FEES TO: 1640 ROBINWOOD AVE. ANY TIME AFTER NOON ON THE THURSDAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THAT MATCH OR YOU MAIL YOUR SCORE SHEET AND/OR FEES, AND THEY ARRIVE AT 1640 ROBINWOOD AVE. WITH A LATE POSTMARK, (ANY POSTMARK LATER THAN NOON OF THE DAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THAT MATCH.) REGARDLESS OF WHEN YOU MAILED THE SCORE SHEET AND/OR FEES, THEY WILL BE CONSIDERED LATE.
a. TEAMS MAILING CASH WITH SCORE SHEETS (IF IT ARRIVES, WILL BE PENALIZED ONE (1) POINT FOR THE FIRST OFFENSE, TWO (2) POINTS FOR THE SECOND, THREE (3) FOR THE THIRD, ETC.)
b. TEAMS THAT ISSUE BAD CHECKS, (INSUFFICIENT FUNDS, ACCOUNT CLOSED, ETC.) BY OR FOR ANY PERSON ON THAT TEAM ROSTER WILL BE CONSIDERED AS NOT BEING PAID FOR THAT WEEK AND AS NOT BEING IN GOOD STANDING, UNTIL THOSE CHECKS, INCLUDING ANY EXTRA CHARGES, HAVE BEEN MADE GOOD.
THE LEAGUE DIRECTOR IN ORDER TO RESOLVE ANY PROTEST WILL, ON WRITTEN REQUEST, INTERPRET ANY OCCURRENCES OR DISCREPANCIES NOT SPECIFICALLY COVERED HEREIN.

PLAYOFFS
1. ANY TEAM HAS THE SAME NUMBER OF TOTAL POINTS AS ANY OTHER TEAM IN THEIR SAME FOUR (4) TEAM DIVISION, AND (1ST TIE-BREAKER) 2. BOTH TEAMS HAVE SCORED THE SAME AMOUNT OF POINTS IN HEAD TO HEAD MATCH PLAY, AND (2ND TIE-BREAKER) 3. BOTH TEAMS HAVE SCORED THE SAME AMOUNT OF TOTAL POINTS AGAINST THE OTHER TWO(2) TEAMS IN THEIR FOUR(4) TEAM DIVISION. 4. THOSE TEAMS WOULD THEN BE TIED AND THEY WOULD BE EXPECTED TO COMPETE IN A PLAYOFF MATCH, ONE(1) WEEK AFTER THEIR REGULARLY SCHEDULED FINAL MATCH. (THE SITE OF, AND THE FORMAT OF SAID MATCH, WILL BE DECIDED BY THE L.D.L.
THE L.D.L. WILL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY TEAMS AS TO LOCATION AND FORMAT BY TELEPHONE, PRIOR TO ANY PLAYOFF MATCH, HOWEVER, IF FOR ANY REASON THE L.D.L. FAILS TO CONTACT ANY TEAM, THAT TEAM MUST CALL THE L.D.L. REGARDING PLAYOFF DETAILS!)
1 DART 50 OUT
PRIOR TO PLAYING SINGLES GAMES, EACH PLAYER WILL ENDEAVOR TO DOUBLE OUT FROM 50 POINTS. (IMAGINE YOU ARE PLAYING 301 AND HAVE 50 POINTS LEFT, YOU PROCEED TO END THE GAME THE SAME WAY). AFTER TAKING NO MORE THAN NINE (9) PRACTICE DARTS, THE HOME TEAM PLAYER TAKES HIS OR HER TURN FIRST, TO COMPLETION. (A MAXIMUM OF TWELVE (12) DARTS OR FOUR (4) TURNS AT THE LINE) IF A PLAYER THROWS THREE (3) DARTS THEY SCORE THREE (3) POINTS ETC., ETC., SHOULD THEY THROW TWELVE (12) DARTS AND STILL NOT HIT THEIR DOUBLE OUT THEY SCORE FOURTEEN (14) POINTS. (THE MAXIMUM PER PLAYER, TEAM MAXIMUM IS FIFTY SIX (56) TOTAL POINTS) AFTER THE FIRST HOME TEAM PLAYER HAS COMPLETED THEIR TURN AT 50 OUT, THE VISITING TEAM PLAYER (THE PLAYER SCHEDULED TO PLAY THE FIRST SINGLES GAME) WOULD TAKE HIS OR HER TURN. UPON COMPLETION, THE PLAYERS WOULD THEN THROW FOR CORK TO BEGIN THE FIRST SINGLES GAME. AFTER THAT GAME IS COMPLETED, THE PLAYERS SCHEDULED TO PLAY THE SECOND SINGLES GAME WOULD THEN PLAY THE 50 OUT PRIOR TO PLAYING THEIR GAME. (ONLY THOSE PLAYERS SCHEDULED TO PLAY IN THE FOUR SINGLES GAMES PARTICIPATE IN THE 50 OUT) AFTER ALL THE 50 OUT GAMES ARE PLAYED, EACH TEAMS SCORES ARE ADDED AND THE TEAM WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF POINTS WOULD WIN THE 50 OUT AND RECEIVE TWO (2) MATCH POINTS. IF BOTH TEAMS HAVE THE SAME TOTAL, THEY EACH RECEIVE ONE (1) POINT.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD
A MINIMUM OF FIFTEEN (15) POINTS IS REQUIRED TO QUALIFY FOR A PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD - TIE BREAKER (S)- 1. WIN THE GAME (S) ACHIEVEMENT WAS THROWN IN. 2. PLAYER WHO'S TEAM WINS MATCH WINS. 3. LEAST EXPERIENCED PLAYER WINS.
